Team Fudo Shin is showing up in full force November 8th in Columbia for Fight Club Series III. Conflict MMA’s 22nd fight card returns to South Carolina, and packing one hell of a punch for MMA fans with a titanic clash between Terrence Hodges and Fabian Vassell.
Fresh off his first round TKO victory at the last Fight Club event, heavyweight prospect Fabian Vassell returns in two weeks to add more fuel to the inferno he lit that night. A man of little words, his actions could not be any bigger when he steps onto a fight card.
Check out our exclusive interview with Vassell, and click here for the full Conflict 22 card going down in a few short weeks! Visit Conflict MMA on Facebook or head to Etix.com for tickets. Of course return during fight week to catch Vassell on War of the Words radio!
#1 R Eric Ellison: First big question I have to ask is, what’s it like be returning to the Fight Club Series after such an explosive debut there?
Fabian Vassell: It’s awesome, and you guys do great work . I cannot wait to step back in the cage and give out that work.
#2 Heading back to the cage again, what has 2014 meant for you as an emerging heavyweight in the Southeast?
Had a lot of personal issues on top of trying to graduate from college. Stepping back in the cage was therapeutic for me. I had a lot on my mind, so I had to channel my aggression. This was a great way, and these fans like seeing it too.
#3 Your MMA debut, held at Conflict’s last Fight Club Series, came and went with a swift KO victory. What lead you to competing in MMA?
I used to play college football. I decided I wanted to do boxing to get back in shape because I wanted to play semi pro ball. Once I got into boxing I fell in love, and from that point I wanted to become a fighter. It just grew from there.
#4 What did you learn at your last Conflict fight that you are bringing in with you on Nov 8th?
To continue to be aggressive and impose my will.
I just want to fight my fight. Nothing else matters.
#6 What team are you with and where do you train?
Fudo Shin Team B. M.K, we in the house. Enough said.
#7 What are some other interests you have outside of MMA?
I like to be laid back and when I’m not working or in the gym I hit the Xbox and also spend time with my fiance.
#8 With so many people heading to Columbia November 8th for this card, if you could leave one impression on all these fans on fight night, what would you want it to be?
That I fight hard. I am a warrior and I leave it all in the cage. Every time.
#9 As always, we would love to hear about anybody or any sponsors helping you get ready for this one.
Much respect to Authentic Artistry Inc., Williams Barber Shop, BuzyBody, and Elite Alchemy
#10 Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us about this epic battle headed our way. Last question; if you could fight any UFC heavyweight, which one would we see Fabian fight?
I really don’t know…hmmm..if I had to say anyone it would probably be Roy Nelson.
