Adrian Diaz eyes UFC deal on Contender Series
Before Tachi Palace Fights champion Adrian Diaz represents California on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on August 15, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass, the red-hot featherweight sat down with FightBookMMA.
How did you find MMA in the first place?
My buddy started doing Jiujitsu and tried pushing me to do it. We went to an event here in Stockton and it clicked for me in the moment, this was something I wanted to do.
Why have you been so successful as a mixed martial artist so far?
I believe in myself, man. I train with my guy, here but the main thing is just believing in yourself and your abilities.
How do you feel about what you’ve accomplished so far?
Sometimes I feel great about it and sometimes I feel I haven’t accomplished anything yet. My ultimate goal is to be in the UFC and be the best fighter in the world. I already feel as though I am, I am just waiting for the opportunity to showcase myself for the world. Looking back, I would say that I am pretty happy with my career.
Is this the biggest fight of your career so far?
Yes sir. It’s always a big fight. Whether they give me fights or not. I’ll tell you, this is the biggest fight – the biggest opponent I’ve fought to date.
How excited are you to have Snoop Dogg call the action?
I’m excited. I got the email a couple of weeks back and he sounds like a cool guy. I want to hear what he has to say about my fighting style.
