LOS ANGELES – March 21, 2015 – For the first time in AXS TV FIGHTS history two promotions are going head-to-head in a co-promoted live event broadcast May 8. AXS TV FIGHTS tonight announced that Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) and Legacy Fighting Championship (Legacy) have agreed to put their top fighters to the test for AXS TV FIGHTS: RFA VS. LEGACY SUPERFIGHT on Friday, May 8 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
“We’ve been broadcasting MMA on AXS TV for over a decade and this is one of the biggest events in our history of combat sports,” said Andrew Simon, CEO of AXS TV FIGHTS. “I have been looking forward to the day AXS TV promotions would work together to promote an all-star card like this. RFA versus Legacy features three title fights including the much dreamed about champion versus champion match-up. Thank you to the fighters, RFA and Legacy for making this historic night come together.”
RFA President Ed Soares and Legacy CEO Mick Maynard later joined AXS TV’s combat sports-focused news magazine “Inside MMA” to reveal the line-up for this historic broadcast, headlined by a flyweight superfight between RFA champion Alexandre Pantoja (15-2) and Legacy champion Damacio Page (19-9). The winner of this match will receive a one-of-a-kind superfight belt, prominently featuring AXS TV, RFA and Legacy.
To complement the night’s headlining superfight, the promotions have also agreed to each host a title fight in two co-main events. Undefeated RFA bantamweight champion Luke Sanders (9-0) will put his belt on the line against RFA contender Terrion Ware (13-3) while top Legacy contenders Dave Burrow (13-5) and Mike Bronzoulis (17-8) face off for the vacant Legacy lightweight championship.
Leading up to these championship bouts, AXS TV FIGHTS: RFA VS. LEGACY SUPERFIGHT will showcase four additional matches between top ranked RFA and Legacy fighters on the televised main card.
The full main card is as follows (subject to change):
Flyweight Superfight Championship
RFA’s Alexandre Pantoja (14-2) versus Legacy’s Damacio Paige (19-9).
RFA Bantamweight Title Fight
RFA Champion Luke Sanders (9-0) versus RFA Contender Terrion Ware (11-3).
Legacy Lightweight Title Fight
Legacy Contender Dave Burrow (13-5) versus Legacy Contender Mike Bronzoulis (17-8-1).
RFA’s Jan Jorgensen (6-1) versus Legacy’s Joe Cason (9-1).

RFA’s Adam Townsend (12-3) versus Legacy’s Chris Feist (8-1).
Legacy’s Brian Hall (8-2) versus an RFA fighter to be determined.
“Working with Andrew Simon and Mick Maynard, we will produce the first true promotion versus promotion MMA show and Superfight,” stated Ed Soares, President of Resurrection Fighting Alliance. “Alexandre Pantoja versus Damacio Page is an exciting pairing for the inaugural AXS TV FIGHTS Superfight title, and I am eager to see how Luke Sanders handles his first ever bantamweight title defense against a dangerous Terrion Ware.”
“We are excited to be a part of a series that is the first of its kind,” said Mick Maynard, CEO of Legacy Fighting Championship. “Both of our organizations have been instrumental in catapulting fighters to the next level in their careers for the last several years and this will be an even more entertaining and unique way to continue that legacy. Many have talked the talk, Legacy and RFA will now be walking the walk.”
