Thursday September 8, 2016— BAMMA is delighted to announce a groundbreaking move that will see BAMMA events partnering the EFL Cup Highlights on Channel 5.
The new partnership will see BAMMA highlights aired directly after the EFL Cup, providing viewers with a double header of sporting action. This partnership is in addition to BAMMA airing on Spike UK, meaning that BAMMA fans will have yet another opportunity to witness the action from Europe’s leading MMA promotion.
The partnership begins on Wednesday 21st September with highlights from the BAMMA 26 event.
BAMMA 26 marks a historical moment not only for the promotion but for Irish & UK MMA as a whole, as BAMMA raise the standard for fighter medical safety.
With the introduction of pre-fight MRI/MRA scans into the requirements for competing, BAMMA lead the way in being the first Western European MMA organisation to bring the scans in as a standard.
BAMMA are intent on ensuring that the highest possible levels of fighter safety are maintained.
“There is nothing more important in the sport of MMA than fighter safety. That is why BAMMA as a promotion has made it an absolute priority to introduce these new procedures for our events. They undoubtedly make MMA a far safer place in which to compete, and we hope by taking the lead that other UK and European promotions will follow.” — BAMMA CEO David Green
