Wednesday, November 23, 2016 Bellator 165 took place Nov. 19, 2016 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. The prelims aired LIVE on and the night’s main event aired live on Spike TV.

Michael Chandler (16-3) successfully defended his lightweight world title belt with a split-decision (48-46, 48-47, 46-48) victory over Benson Henderson (24-7). It was a five-round back and forth battle that is sure that people will talk about it and will go down as an instant classic. In the end Chandler protected his title for the third time of his career. Chandler and Henderson were the top earners for the event as they both took home $50k. The second highest paid for the night was Micheal Page taking home $40k. Keri-Anne Taylor-Melendez made her MMA debut that night earning $20k.
