Despite the event being predicted to draw around 450,000 viewers according to MMA journalist Dave Meltzer, it was reported by BloodyElbow that Spike TV representatives are stating that the Bellator 187 event, which featured Conor McGregor’s post-fight meltdown, received 621,000 viewers; drawing decent viewership number for cable television.
It’s also worth noting that the same report stated that Conor McGregor’s appearance at the event peaked at 1,000,000 viewers, despite causing much controversy. Since then, McGregor has indeed apologize the incident on his Instagram page.
“I sincerely apologize for my behavior at last weekend’s fight event in Dublin,” McGregor posted on Instagram. “While trying to support a loyal teammate and friend, I let my emotions get the best of me and acted out of line. As a multiple weight champion, executive producer, role model and public figure, I must hold myself to a higher standard.”
