Brandon Lasley : Never to late to follow your dreams

Tuesday April 5, 2016 Born and raised in Jonesboro Arkansas, Brandon Lasley had a good idea of what he didn’t want to become. With many in his community choosing an easy way out with drugs and alcohol he knew early on he needed to be focused and driven to be better than that. Luckily for him the support and guidance from his parents helped push him to do so. It wasn’t until later in life he realized being an ring announcer was his destination.

“I came along way. I came from nothing, it gave me motivation to be the best of the best.”

Around 2009 he started his journey into announcing for wrestling and combat sports. A job which he feels is his true calling. Starting out with commentary for wrestling matches he soon came to love the excitement of the crowd and the energy from the events. Having always been a fan of wrestling, Judo, Karate and Boxing he felt right at home.

He started out with Ozark Mountain Sports with Shawn Prentice and soon found other opportunities at local gyms on Saturday nights announcing local fights. He then also started to study mma more preparing to branch out as he made new contacts.

“I was under the tutoring of former wwe wrestler Rodney Begnaud known as “Randy Mack”.

He and a best friend of mine wrestler Joshua Gambill gave me plenty of work announcing.”

Along the way he took a break to refocus and gain back the drive he once had. He credits friend Ivan Whitaker with Ace Fighting Championship for helping motivate him.

Recently acquiring Shawn Colpitts from Smmack Combat Management as a manager, Brandon recalls how he found this team.

“I was working a show with Dan Severn in Detroit and over heard some fighters talking about smmack. After some research I thought it was a good idea. It’s been good (working with them) Shawn is a class act.”

Now with even more experience and travel time logged in, Lasley is looking forward to visiting the remaining states he’s yet to, and make appearances in promotions all over the USA.

“I want to be the best I can be and do it like nobody else can. I want to be the next Bruce Buffer. My goals are to work hard, to take care of my family and give back to Jonesboro Arkansas.”

Motivated by his children, family and friends, he credits wife Jessica with being his biggest supporter as well as his stylist.

“Id like to give a shout out to Craig Stone out of Macw championship wrestling for always letting me announce for them. To all the people who said I wouldn’t amount to anything, it’s time they all pay attention. I am ready to take the game by storm. I also want to thank God Almighty for blessing me, for getting me event after event and allowing me to show my craft and skills. Also my two brothers Christopher and Justin thank you for always supporting me.”
