Brave News #10 talks about a thrilling night of fights in Curitiba and Brave stars training together
Brave News, the weekly online show that keeps fans worldwide updated on the fastest-rising promotion in MMA, comes back this week with updates of a thrilling night of fights in Curitiba, Brazil. Brave 8: The Rise of Champions crowned two new world champions, as Klidson de Abreu dominated prospect Timo Feucht to claim the Light Heavyweight title, while Carlston Harris went five hard rounds to upset Carl Booth and, with a day’s notice, capture the Welterweight belt.
Harris’ unexpected victory, since he was set to face Rodrigo Cavalheiro before Mohammad Fakhreddine pulling out last minute, initiated a tour through Rio de Janeiro, where the new champ lives and trains. Originally from Guiana, “Moçambique” offered his world title to his friends, fans and training partners in gyms all over the Marvellous City. Carlston also made time to visit underprivileged kids from a social project he’s in contact with.
Elsewhere, there were extra checks for two of Curitiba’s most notorious warriors. Lightweight Luan “Miau” Santiago went 2-0 for Brave Combat Federation with a KO of tough Igor Soares and claimed a Knockout of The Night bonus for his efforts. Eduardo “Camelo” Ramon, meanwhile, put on a jiu-jitsu clinic as he submitted Rogério Santos to win the award of Submission of the Night.
Brave CEO Mohammed Shahid enjoyed his stay in Curitiba as he was able to get in contact with some of the city’s biggest sports entrepreneurs, meeting with directors of local football club Atlético Paranaense.
Briefly after Brave 8 was over, Lightweight Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady laid out his short-term plans for his promotional career. The Jordanian hopes to fight in Bahrain in November and wants to face Alejandro “Pato” Martínez for the 70 kg. title. If the organization decides against crowning a Lightweight champion at this time, Al-Selwady would like to fight Chris “Taco” Padilla, who impressed in his Brave debut, beating a tough Ivan Castillo in the co-main event of Brave 7: Untamed, last month in Tijuana.
Last but not least, France saw a meeting of Brave stars as Featherweight champion Elias Boudegzdame invited Welterweight contender Tahar Hadbi to his gym “Le Bonne Eccole”. While there, “Fast Hands” Hadbi spoke about his rivalry with Carl Booth and Mohammad Fakhreddine and claimed he would like to fight one of them next.
