Tuesday March 22, 2016 CFFC 57 was the story of three different relationships; Between three different fighters, and three belts. Katlyn Chookagian TKO’d Stephanie Bragayrac, to win her second championship. She now owns both, the 125 and the 135 belts. She has looked impressive in both her title wins. She’s a fierce and accurate striker. Her next challenge seems to be finding an opponent willing to fight her.

UFC Alum, Louis Gaudinot won the promotion’s Bantamweight title, and used his mic-time to tell the audience he was grateful for CFFC, a great organization, but that doesn’t belong there. I assume he was making his case for a return to the UFC.

Bill Algeo would have earned himself the CFFC Featherweight belt, had he made weight. The shame is that Bill Algeo and and Jeff Lentz, (the champ at the time), put on the fight of the night. 5 rounds that ended in successively louder cheers from the crowd. CFFC President Robert Haydak was visibly frustrated by the vacancy this was leaving atop their Featherweight division.

Bassil Hafez looked great in his decision win over Robert Plotkin. Hafez dominated the first two stanzas with powerful, insistent, wrestling. Plotkin came on strong in the third, and tested Hafez’z chin and resolve. Hafez got the decision win, and proved he can swim deep waters.

Bobbi Jo Dalziel started the night off with a bang. Just a few seconds into the first round she landed a powerful head kick that sent her opponent stumbling backwards. She finished her with ground strikes a few moments later. I am definitely interested in seeing her next fight!
