Brave Combat Federation has confirmed the return of welterweight sensation Cian Cowley. The announcement was made during the Brave 16 broadcast last friday, with “Warrior” now set to compete at Brave 18, which will take place in Manama, Bahrain, during the International Combat Week, in november.
Cowley had a victorious debut for Brave, stopping Daniel Olejniczak with strikes in the first round of their Brave 13 bout, in Northern Ireland. He was accompanied by his SBG Ireland teammates, including MMA superstar Conor McGregor, who cheered him on from the crowd.
The win over Olejniczak was the first professional MMA victory for Cowley, who comes from an extensive muay thai background, with multiple national titles to his name. “Warrior” made his transition to MMA after assisting Conor McGregor in preparation for his bout with José Aldo in 2015.
Cowley is the first name confirmed for the groundbreaking event, which will also have a fight for the vacant lightweight title serving as the main event of Brave 18.
