Monday May 18, 2015– On Sunday (5/17/2015) the UFC debut it’s “Countdown to UFC 187.” The one-hour special will replay throughout the rest of the week. UFC 187 will take place on Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will air on pay-per-view and the prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

The main event will be Cormier (15-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Johnson (19-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) as they will fight for the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship. As we all know, this title became vacant when the UFC stripped the title from Jon Jones and was pulled from the card after his involvement in a hit-and-run accident.

The co-headliners will be Weidman (12-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) and Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6 UFC). Belfort will fight for Weidman’s UFC middleweight championship. This fight has been a long time coming since these two have been set to fight not once but multiple times due to drug testing and injuries that postponed the fight each time.
