Lincoln, R.I. (Mon, September 18, 2017)– John “Doomsday” Howard is coming back in the CES MMA cage.

After 14 bouts in the UFC’s Octagon, the former CES champ returns to action against Roger “The Leprechaun” Carroll in the main event of #CES46 on Oct. 27 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., LIVE on AXS TV Fights.

This is Howard’s first fight in more than a year, and the Boston product is eager to make up for lost time.

“I had to take a step back from the sport for a little while, but now I’m back. I’m just excited, man. I’ve got so many fans in New England, and I’ve got so much love for them. I can’t wait to get back in that CES cage and put on a show,” Howard says with a big smile.

But Carroll, a BJJ black belt and Bellator MMA vet, isn’t coming all the way from North Carolina to Rhode Island to be a stepping stone for anyone.

“It’s an honor to fight an opponent like ‘Doomsday,’ but I’m coming to win. I predict a lot of bombs being thrown, and a great fight for the fans,” says Carroll, who holds a submission victory over former CES champ Todd Chattelle and once went the distance with former champ Chuck O’Neil.

As Howard was warming up for another training session, he had a short message for his fans.

“I’ve got so much fight still in me; I’m so happy to be back,” he says. “I’m definitely proud of what I have accomplished but I have a long way to go, man. I’ve still got a lot of people to prove wrong, and a few belts to pick up along the way.”
