Here is what they had to say:

ERIC HUNTER, Featherweight Contender:

What does Memorial Day mean to you?

Memorial Day is a special day to remember and appreciate the men and women who protect our country.

Did you or any one important to you serve in the military, past or present? If so, who?

A: My father served for five years and my uncle, from my father side, served for 11 years, both were in the Army.

Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force?

I would join the Marines.

Do you have a message for veterans or other military service men and women for Memorial Day this year?

Thank you for your service. I dedicate this fight on May 22 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino to all the service men and women. Without them, we wouldn’t be here today.

ABRAHAM LOPEZ, Featherweight Prospect:

What does Memorial Day mean to you?

To me, Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor those who are in and have served in the U.S military. It’s a time to reflect and appreciate those who sacrificed and gave their lives to defend our great country.

Did you or any one important to you serve in the military, past or present?

My uncle Carlos Aldana served in the U.S military. He is a Vietnam veteran. My good friend Robert Villalobos served in the Marines and did two tours in Fallujah, Iraq. My uncle Hector Capristo served in the Army. I have more friends that served and are currently serving in the military. You guys know who you are, that went to La Puente High School.

Do you have a military hero? If so, who is it and why are they a hero to you?

I don’t have a specific military hero, I have military heroes. The people who served and are currently serving in the military are my heroes. To put their lives on the line for us to continue to do what we do is courageous and honorable. That’s why everyone in the military are my heroes.

Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force? Why?

Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force…Wow tough question. I pick all of them because they’re all amazing people. But the Marine’s devil dog mascot looks cool.

Do you have a message for veterans or other military service men and women for Memorial Day this year?

To all of those that have served in the military I would like to applaud you and say thank you for your services and sacrifices that you have done for me, my family and the country. I am forever grateful. To those who are currently serving, I say thank you, be careful and get back home safe.

JOET GONZALEZ, Featherweight Prospect:

What does Memorial Day mean to you?

Memorial Day to me means remembering all those that have passed away serving our country.

Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force? Why?

I like them all, they all play a different role in protecting our country. But if I had to pick I would go with the Marines because I have friends that have served, and that are in the service right now.

Do you have a message for veterans or other military service men and women for Memorial Day this year?

To all the veterans and military service men and women, thank you all for the sacrifices you guys make and for keeping our beautiful country safe.
