Lincoln, R.I. (Tue, October 24, 2017)– CES 47 announce the first fighters who will partake on the nights fight card. The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 17, 20107 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., Live on AXS TV Fights.
The first bout is a heavyweight match between Greg “Ribz” Rebello (22-8, 13 knockouts) and Derrick Brown (7-4, all finishes). Richie Santiago (5-0, all finishes) will fight Shawn Mack (6-2, all finishes) in flyweight action. In another 125-pound bout, Kris Moutinho (4-1) will look to rebound from his first pro loss against David Garcia (4-4-1, all finishes). All three will be live on AXS TV.
This is Rebello’s first fight since falling short on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series during the summer in Las Vegas. Although some fans weren’t sure if they’d see Rebello back in action again at Twin River Casino, “Ribz” says it was just a matter of time.
“At the end of the day, I went out there and had a competitive fight with a guy who just lost a split decision to the No. 10 heavyweight fighter in the world,” the heavy-handed, fan-favorite says. “I’m never happy if I don’t get the win, of course, but I’m not at all demotivated from my experience in Vegas. I’m as hungry as I’ve ever been, and we’re going to see that on Nov. 17 on AXS TV.”
Now that he’s back in New England, Rebello says it’s back to business.
Derrick Brown, meanwhile, isn’t anyone’s stepping stone. The Myrtle Beach, S.C., heavyweight has finished three of his past four opponents. He’s finished five of his past seven foes and has only been to a decision once in his 11-fight professional career.
“Competing for CES on AXS TV FIghts is a big opportunity and I’m excited to make the most of it, put on a good fight, turn some heads, have my hand raised, and then get an invitation to come back soon,” Brown says. “I’ve got a lot of respect for anyone who steps in the cage, but this is the best I’ve ever been and I’m getting better every day.”
