Georges St-Pierre to Start 6-Week Camp with Freddie Roach
Thursday November 5, 2015– Freddie Roach who is St-Pierre’s longtime boxing coach, was in attendance for a press conference to promote the upcoming boxing match for November 21st. A boxing match that all boxing fans are looking forward to is the Canelo Alvarez vs. Miguel Cotto. Fight Hub TV was on scene and talked to Roach about St-Pierre’s possible return in MMA.
As we all remember, St-Pierre vacated the UFC Welterweight Title afer a controversial split-decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.
You can watch the video below where Roach states:
“He’s going to train for a fight. He’s going to have a six-week training camp”
“And at the end of the six weeks, if he feels like he’s ready to fight, and he’s hungry for it like he always has been, he’s going to do it. He’s going to fight one more time.”
But don’t get your hopes up just yet as Roach also sates:
“If he doesn’t feel it, and he feels like it’s just not there, he’s going to let it go and he’s going to retire. I think it’s a good idea. I think it’s really, really smart to do that, to see where he’s at in his mind”
“I really look forward to this training camp.
