Greg Jackson joins BAMMA at Bodypower
Friday April 22, 2016— BAMMA is delighted to announce that legendary MMA trainer Greg Jackson will be joining the BAMMA panel for a Q & A session at the Bodypower Expo.
Having previously announced the partnership between BAMMA 25 and the Bodypower Expo, we can now confirm that Greg Jackson will be sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience in a Q & A session at the Expo on Friday 13th May.
Greg Jackson is a world renowned trainer who co-owns Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is widely considered to be the top MMA training camp in the world. Jackson has trained many of the sports true greats, including Holly Holm, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones, and BAMMA fighter Tom ‘Firekid’ Duquesnoy.
The Q & A with the three time World MMA Award winner (“Best Coach” and “Best Gym” in 2009, and “Coach of the Year” in 2010) will be one of the most eagerly anticipated events at the Expo, with Jackson then taking his place in the corner of Tom Duquesnoy for the BAMMA 25 headline bout on Saturday 14th May.
This will be one of the many events not to be missed in the BAMMA Zone at Bodypower, so make sure you get your tickets NOW!
The French are coming! For the past couple of years, French fighters within the BAMMA roster have been proving to be some of the finest combatants in Europe. Let’s take a closer look……
The leader of the pack is the current Featherweight champion and now Bantamweight title contender in the BAMMA 25 main event, Tom ‘Firekid’ DuQuesnoy. Undefeated since entering the promotion, Duquesnoy has been nothing short of spectacular and now has the unique target of becoming BAMMA’s first ever two division Champion.
Next up is the challenger for the BAMMA Lightweight Title, Damien ‘Frankenstein’ Lapilus. After a hugely impressive performance last time out against Jack McGann, and with four wins from his last five fights, Lapilus now has the chance to take another Title back to France as he goes up against Martin ‘.50 Cal’ Stapleton at BAMMA 25
The Middleweight division has seen Cheick Kone join the promotion and cut a path of destruction from his 23 second debut at BAMMA 18, right through to winning the BAMMA Middleweight title at BAMMA 23. The ‘Animal’ has electrified fans with his fearless fighting style, and despite dropping the title to John Phillips at BAMMA 24, Kone is still one of the major players within the division.
Add Christopher Jacquelin to the list and it seems that we really are witnessing a new French revolution!
BAMMA can now confirm the completion of a further International broadcast deal that will see the promotion broadcast across the African continent.
The deal with Kwese Sports means that BAMMA events will now be beamed across; Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Swaziland, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia & Zimbabwe.
“Gear up with Kwesé Sports as they field your favourite international football superstars from the Premier League, Copa del Rey and the top Brazilian and Argentinian leagues. With anything from BAMMA to IAAF athletics, Kwesé Sports puts you where the action happens.”
This deal follows hot on the heels of the recently announced partnership with Indonesian Broadcaster Pride TV ONE, and further extends BAMMA’s global reach. With plenty more exciting broadcast deals to be announced over the coming months, BAMMA continues to introduce exciting markets around the world to Europe’s leading MMA promotion.
