HBO PPV Highlights and Results for Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux & “Chocolatito” Gonzalez vs. Brian Viloria

Sunday October 18, 2015-– Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux took place last Saturday, October 17 at Madison Square Garden and was produced and distributed by HBO Pay-Per-View.

Golovkin vs. Lemieux was presented by K2 Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions in association with GGG Promotions and Eye of the Tiger Management and was sponsored by Corona Extra, BI Group and Tsesnabank.

Gennady Golovkin remained undefeated as he unified the WBA and IBF middleweight titles against David Lemieux in front of over 20,000 fans.

Golovkin was in control in the opening round and looked like he was the better boxer using the jab. Lemieux held his own as well also trying to figure out what he needed to do to avoid the jabs.

Golovkin took some hard shots from Lemieux in the fifth round as GGG’s chin was on display. It seemed as if Lemieux was on his way to dominating the fight but Golovkin dropped him with a hard body shot late in the round.

Golovkin wad dominating the sixth and seventh rounds, in round eight Lemieux was staggered again. Referee Steve Willis stepped in to stop the bout. Gennady Golovkin wins by TKO.

On the undercard, flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez remained unbeaten and dominating stopping Brian Viloria in the ninth round. Roman wins by KO.

The other two undercard bouts was Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz who dominated the fight against Argentina’s Matias Ariel Vidondo in three rounds. Luis wins by KO.

Tureano Johnson won all 12-rounds by decision over Eamonn O’Kane in an IBF middleweight eliminator. With this win over O’Kane, Johnson is now in line for a shot at Golovkin.
