Holland’s Andrew Muyskens goes from bully victim to top MMA prospect, back in the cage Saturday

Andrew Muyskens has established himself as one of Michigan’s baddest MMA prospects. Before his fight Saturday at Lights Out 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich., the fast-rising featherweight spoke with FightBookMMA.

How did you find MMA to begin with?

I found fighting through my friend. I was bullied really badly in high school. It got to the point that I had to learn to defend myself. My friend Isaac was a boxer. I messaged him on Facebook and the rest is history.

How do you feel about what you’ve accomplished so far?

I think I’ve accomplished great things, but I don’t like to think too much about what I’ve done so I don’t lose focus on the future.

What are your goals for the future?

My goal is to go pro, get as many fights as I can, make as good of a life as I can for myself and my daughter, and just be me.

What can fans expect for your fight Saturday?

They can expect a great show, and they can expect to see me with my hand raised.
