The much anticipated UFC debut for former Legacy FC women’s bantamweight and multi-divisional boxing champion Holly Holm is being marked for UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler 2 on December 6th. Her expected opponent is TUF: Rousey vs. Tate alum Raquel Pennington.
It is Holm’s first UFC fight but she is a battle tested fighter. Not only has she has 7 MMA fights add in 3 kickboxing matches and lest we forget her 38 high level pro boxing matches hardly qualifies Holm for neophyte status. Many MMA fans feel her long frame and undoubtedly superior striking is the kryptonite to Super Woman (and UFC women’s bantamweight champion) Ronda Rousey. Whether all that is true or not remains to be seen, but her bout with Raquel Pennington is a step in the direction to test those theories.
None of this is new experience for Raquel Pennington either, the Invicta and UFC vet has been in there tough as well.
How all this shakes out we will have to wait and see.
