Monday, November 7, 2016— Two of MMA’s most promising prospects will meet at EuroFC 02 on February 11th as Hungary’s Adam Borics (11-0) takes on Peru’s Sergio Giglio (9-0).
Last week it was announced that Borics had signed multi-fight contract with EuroFC after turning down various offers from promotions around the world.
The 23-year-old made his professional debut just a little over two years ago and has since won eleven straight including going 3-0 in the FFC promotion and winning the HFC featherweight title in his native Hungary. Borics has proven himself as a very well-rounded fighter having registered wins via TKO, submission and decision.
Now his next assignment is against fellow EuroFC debutant Sergio Giglio. The 19-year-old has made a splash on the local scene in Peru securing seven stoppage victories, six of which were in the first round, and scoring a unanimous decision win over Brazilian veteran Sandro de Souza in his last contest in June of this year. This fight will mark his first foray outside of South America.
Borics stated that he wants challenging fights and opponents who will bring the best out of him and he has surely just that in Giglio.
EuroFC matchmaker Tim Leidecker spoke of his excitement of the match-up.
“Ádám Borics against Sergio Giglio is a battle between two of the most talented young up-and-comers in the featherweight division. Plenty has been said about Ádám’s skill level and the fact that he’s been chased by half of Europe and Asia is speaking volumes about the kid’s quality. Let’s definitely not look past Sergio either. Even though at just 19 years of age he is the youngest fighter to compete for EuroFC so far, he is already very mature for his age. He’s been in the game for more than three years and he’s already ranked Top 5 at his weight in his native Peru. In his fights he doesn’t make any prisoners and is going for the jugular from the opening bell. Both guys have great jiu-jitsu, so I’m looking forward to a ferocious and energetic ground battle.”
EuroFC 02 takes place in the o2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic on February 11th.
