Invicta FC 22 Preview
Kansas City, MO (March 21, 2017)- The warriors from Invicta FC will back in the cage this Saturday night at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City. The event will be headlined by a highly touted rematch between Bantamweight champion Tonya “Triple Threat” Evinger (18-5 1NC) and challenger Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya (9-2 1NC).
In their first match up Foxy was deemed the winner by submission but with a dark cloud hanging over the decision the Missouri State Athletic Commission over turned the ruling deeming the bout a No Contest. One thing for certain with this match up the winner will leave no doubt.
In the Co-Main Event the promotions Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamaski (14-1) will make the move up to Strawweight to take on former champion Livia Renata Souza (9-1) in what should be full of explosive action. Another good bout in the Strawweight division will feature DeAnna Bennett (8-2) taking on Jodie Esquibel (5-2). It’s been just over a year since Bennett has been inside the cage and seven months for Esquibel but don’t expect any cage rust from these combatants.
Highly touted Brazilian prospect Janaisa Morandin (9-0) will look to remain unbeaten in her professional career and this will be her Invicta debut as she will be opposed by veteran Jinh Yu Frey (5-2). Frey was last in action against the previously mentioned Atomweight champion Ayaka Hamaski. Look for Frey to make a statement in this one as she will try to make another title run.
In what could be a dark horse show stopping fight veterans Amber Brown (6-3) will do battle with Missouri native Ashley Cummins. Cummins is dropping to Atomweight after making a run at getting into The Ultimate Fighter house at Strawweight the Wolves Den product comes back to Invicta FC after a stint under the Bellator banner. Brown who is excited to be back in the Invicta cage also makes the drop to Atomweight after back to back losses at Strawweight. Both of these fighters are in incredible shape look for a war whether it be one round or all three.
Be sure to checkout of the rest of the card below and be sure to look for exclusive pictures, videos, and interviews via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and at FightBookMMA.com I would be remiss if i didn’t make my one prediction and would be this card is going to be wall to wall action and my FOTN will be Amber Brown vs. Ashley Cummins.
