JacksonWink Fight Night 3: Abel “The Silent Assassin” Cullum vs. Joshua Montoya main-event breakdown

JacksonWink Fight Night 3 will take place Saturday June 2, 2018 at the at the Isleta Resort & Casino. In the main event, Abel “The Silent Assassin” Cullum (20-6) fighting out of Tucumcari, New Mexico training out at Force of One will take on Joshua Montoya (11-9) from Santa FE, NM fighting out of Gracie Berra Santa Fe.

Abel “The Silent Assassin” Cullum (20-6) made his Pro MMA debut back in September 17, 2005 at DE: Beyond Brutal as he defeated Michael Chupa via Submission rear-naked choke. He lost his second fight and then went on winning 11 straight. At his 11th win, he won the King of the Cage Flyweight (135 lbs) Title and successfully defended his belt four times. He lost his title to Jimmie Rivera via split decision at KOTC: No Mercy. Cullum also fought at EliteXC for the 140lb Championship but Abel was unable to overcome the larger Reis and lost by unanimous decision. Cullum also competed in the DREAM Featherweight Grand Prix and defeated kickboxer Akiyo Nishiura via unanimous decision. He competed in the second round of the tournament and faced Hideo Tokoro and lost to via rear naked choke. Also on his impressive resume he competed at Resurrection Fighting Alliance (now known as Legacy Fighting Allinace LFA) and faced UFC veteran Ulysses Gomez at RFA 18: Manzanares vs. Pantoja on September 12, 2014. Cullum defeated Gomez via first round guillotine choke. He’s scheduled to fight Joshua Montoya (11-9) at JacksonWink Fight Night 3.

Joshua Montoya (11-9) made his Pro MMA debut back in February 02, 2008 DE – Toe 2 Toe and defeated Eddie Armendariz via Submission Triangle Choke. During his MMA career, he fought in many promotions in the likes of King of the Cage, Que Loco Cage Fighting, Supreme Warrior Championship, Ring of Combat just to name a few. He went on to fight at Bellator 91 which took place back in February 28, 2013 as he took on Ed West and lost via KO Head Kick in the second round. He went on to fight at XFC 25: BOILING POINT and took on Ed Tomaselli and defeated him via TKO Punches in the first round at the 1:47 mark. His last fight was at the Jackson’s MMA Series 14 and was defeated by Nick Urso via unanimous decision. He’s scheduled to fight Abel “The Silent Assassin” Cullum (20-6) at JacksonWink Fight Night 3. This is not the first time these two meet, Joshua was defeated by Cullum via submission choke in Round 1 at the KOTC: Honor fight card back in May 14, 2010. This time around he wants to avenge his loss and walk out with his hands raised at JWFN 3.
