Jorge Masvidal now meets James Krause at UFC 178
By John Carlin 15th August 2014
After a bit of reshuffling, the UFC announced yesterday that Jorge Masvidal (27-8) and Bobby Green (23-5) will in fact not be facing each other, instead Masvidal will square off against James Krause (21-5) at the UFC 178 pay-per-view event to be held on September 27, 2014 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Bobby Green now facing Donald Cerrone (24-6) in the co-main event on the night same.
Masvidal is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Daron Cruickshank (15-5) last month at UFC on Fox 12: Lawler v Brown, and before that claimed another unanimous decision over tough veteran Pat Healy (29-20). Masvidal is currently 4-1 in his UFC career, the sole loss coming to Dagestani Combat Sambo World Champion Ruslam Khabilov (17-2) in November of last year.

Currently ranked #14 in the UFC’s lightweight division rankings, Masvidal will be aiming to break in to the division’s top ten, and a win over the thus so far impressive James Krause will certainly help towards that.
Krause meanwhile is coming off of the biggest win of his career to date, when he defeated Jamie Varner (21-10) back in May at UFC 173, albeit in unfortunate circumstances, when Varner appeared to break his ankle and was unable to continue.
Krause is currently 2-1 in the UFC, with a loss coming against Bobby Green (23-5) at UFC Fight for the troops 3 back in November of last year, which halted an 8-fight winning streak for The 28 year old American spanning various organizations such as Shark Fights, Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Titan Fighting Championships as well as the UFC.
