Marcus “Money” Sursa
Thursday, February 12, 2015– Lets start off by figuring out who Marcus “Money” Sursa is. He was born on September 13, 1982, hes a pro MMA fighter and a christian. Marcus attended High School at River Road HS in Amarillo,Tx. With his love of wrestling at the age of 4 years old this led up to him being the State Wrestling Champion in 2001 but it didn’t stop there, he went on to college and became the All-American in 2003 in Bakersfield,CA. In 2006 he became the Grapplers Quest Champion in the 205lb Advanced Black Belt Division. He’s also fought in Bellator MMA, UFC, Strikeforce and Glory Kickboxing.
Now where did his passion of fighting start? Well he was introduced to fighting while helping his High School coach Ali Elias to prepare for his fights in the USWF vs Frank Trigg. Marcus went on and had his first fight as a professional at the young age of 16 years old and fought against Carlo Prator.
Marcus is a well-rounded fighter he’s trained all over the world. Below is a list of places and training parteners Marcus has had in his profesional carrer as a MMA Fighter.
Trained at Breda, Holland with Heath Herring, Cor Hammers, Ramon Dekkers.
Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Combat Club under Sergio Pehna and Ricardo Pires.
Muay Thai coach: One Kick Nick’s gym under Nick Blomgren.
Training partners: Dewey Cooper, Steve Cantwell, Dave Smith, Andreas Spang. I also worked my muay thai with Mark Hyena Beecher.
Jackson’s Gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Training partners: Keith Jardine, Tom Watson, Kyle Noke, Leonard Garcia, Joe Stevenson, Rashad Evans.
Marcus has a fight March 7, 2015 fighting for the SHAMROCK PROMOTIONS he will be fighting against Kelvin Tiller (6 – 1 – 0), for the fight card go here.
