Sunday June 7, 2015– Miguel Cotto defeated Daniel Geale and defended his WBC middleweight championship on Saturday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Cotto defeated Geale by KO, 1:28 into the 4th round and improved his professional record to 40-4 he also recorded his 33rd knockout.

During the post-fight interview Cotto stated:

“Let’s do it,” Cotto said to HBO’s Max Kellerman. “Before that, I want to spend some time with my family and enjoy them again, but then it’s back to L.A. and training for Canelo”

Cotto continued to say:

“Canelo will be just another fight. If the people want that fight to happen, it will happen.”
