“I’ve always wanted to help people, so police officer was a natural fit,” Haag says. “This is the perfect job in the perfect setting for me to have a positive impact in the community. I love it.”

Haag is celebrating his fourth year with the force this year and is also looking to take several big steps in his MMA career in 2017.

He says his department is a big supporter of his MMA career. With that in mind, he’s looking to put on a performance to remember on Saturday in Newport.

“I take a lot of pride in putting on a good show for the fans, and my next fight will be no exception to that,” he says with a smile. “Don’t blink.”
