Nate Andrews “improving every day,” eager to defend crown at CES 51
Before Nate “The Snake” Andrews defends his lightweight crown in the main event of CES 51 against D’Juan Owens next Friday in Lincoln, R.I., LIVE on AXS TV Fights, the Blue Chip prospect sat down with FightBookMMA.
What are your thoughts on your opponent?
He’s a very talented and tough guy. He’s very well-rounded.
When you’re fighting someone with nearly thirty fights, does that experience give them an advantage?
To have that many fights is pretty much everything. How do you catch them off-guard with a different style when they’ve seen it all?
Do you feel you’re still improving as a fighter?
Every day. Every day.
What should fans expect on August 3rd?
They should expect a very exciting fight – me going out there, bringing it, and looking for the finish like I always do.
How will this fight end?
I’m not exactly sure how it’s going to end. I just know it’s going to be me getting my hand raised and getting another finish – whether it’s submission or knockout – I’m going to be patient, take my shots, and when the opportunity arrives I’m going to hop all over it like I always do.
How is it going to feel to have that belt around your waist again?
It’s going to feel great to keep it wrapped around my waist.
