New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame to honor Dr. Eric Wurmser with the ” RINGSIDE PHYSICIAN” award

New Jersey (Mon, November 20, 2017)– The New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame is extremely proud of its sixth class of inductees to the New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame. This class will be honored at the sixth dinner gala to be held at The Event Center in iPlay America in Freehold, NJ on December 1, 2017.

On December 1st, Dr. Eric Wurmser will be inducted as the Rinsgside Physician.

Dr. Eric Wurmser was born and raised in Louisville Kentucky and in later years moved with his family to New Jersey. Dr. Wurmser currently lives in NJ with his wife, Teri and has two children and two grandchildren.

Dr. Wurmser attended Miami of Ohio for his undergraduate degree, and then Rutgers and Mount Sinai for his medical degree. He did his residency in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn New York and is board certified in Plastic Surgery. His specialty areas are in the care of children with cleft lip and palate and chronic wounds. For over 20 years, Dr. Wurmser traveled to 3rd world countries to deliver care to those in need primarily to children needing reconstructive surgery.

In addition to his medical calling, Dr. Wurmser has had many interests over the years. He competed as an equestrian, hosted a radio program, took flying lessons, and taught poetry at the university level. He became very interested in combat sports, first boxing and later in mixed martial arts and has been a ring physician for over 30 years. He recognized that the potential of mixed martial arts was unlimited and seized the opportunity to participate as a ring physician and a stich doctor for many at mixed martial arts competitions. Having retired about 3 years ago, Dr. Wurmser continues to pursue many new interests and greatly misses his work in the ring.
