New Mexico MMA Fighter is arrested and faces child abuse charges

Albuquerque, NM (Fri, April 28, 2017)– MMA fighter Gilbert Cuhen from New Mexico has been arrested on abuse charges after a 3-year-old girl was found unresponsive in Tucson.

Sgt. Pete Dugan, a spokesperson for the Tucson Police Department, stated on April 26th that mom heard a commotion in another room and found Cuhen, who is not the 3-year-olds father, was in the room and with him was her daughter who was unresponsive.

Mom did leave the house and had to pull over to call 911 because her daughter wasn’t breathing. Three-year-old Audi is now fighting for her life. Doctors did find internal and external injuries that comes with abuse.

Mom stated:

Right now she’s heavily sedated, she has a fractured skull, the base of her skull is fractured.

During this time, Cuhen fled to Deming where he has family there. After talking with authorities over the phone, Cuhen went back to Arizona and turned himself in. Gilbert was booked into jail on two counts of child abuse. Gilbert is still in jail in Tucson on a $350 thousand dollar bond and could face other charges.

FightBookMMA would like all of us to keep Audi in our thoughts and prayers. There is a Go Fund Me account set up to help the family.
