Rashad Evans out of UFC 206
Monday, November 21, 2016— UFC 206 takes place at Air Canada Centre in Toronto and will feature a light heavyweight title rematch between champ Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson. Rashad Evans was supposed to fight Tim Kennedy which is not the case anymore according to Evans’ manager and Kennedy. According to manager Ali Abdelaziz, Evans was unable to get medical clearance for a fight license for the Dec. 10 event.
Kennedy confirmed this on The MMA Hour:
The medical paperwork, which showed an irregularity in his pre-fight MRI, was enough for the New York State Athletic Commission deny Evans a license to fight Kennedy at UFC 205 this is the same issue for UFC 206. Evans will have to undergo additional screening with a neurologist to prove that he is healthy enough to fight. After he gets cleared he will return sometime in the near future.
