A little show went a long way for Bellator this past weekend. The Bellator 131 event which aired live on Spike TV this past Saturday set viewer records for the promotion. 1.8 million people tuned in to see Tito Ortiz’s grudge match with Stephan Bonnar with a peak of 2 million viewers, making it the most watched highest rated MMA fight on cable for 2014. The fight was also the 2nd highest rated MMA fight among the male 18-34 and 18-49; it also came in #2 in its cable time slot. Overall the entire fight card drew an amazing 1.29+ million viewers a record for Bellator on Spike TV.
Take into consideration the fight’s effect on social media, it being the most tweeted fight ever for Bellator including its reach on Facebook and video views were record setters for the promotion.
