Ronda Rousey’s wish may have come true. Undefeated Bethe Correia(9-0, 3-0 UFC) has done her best Vitor Belfort impersonation by relentlessly campaigning for a title shot. After her dominate performance at UFC 184, Rousey was not shy in voicing her desire to take her on in her home country. Correia has beaten a number of Rousey’s “Four Horsewoman” stablemates and Rousey is eyeing revenge.
Tatame has reported that the UFC is targeting Ronda Rousey vs Bethe Correia for their first Brazilian foray into PPV of 2015. The fight is set to take place at the HSBC Arena in Barra da Tijuca on August 1st.
Also on the card is the long-awaited rematch between Mauricio Rua(22-10) and Antonio Rogerio Noguiera(21-6), who first met in Pride in 2015, in an absolutely classic which was labelled by Sherdog as the “Fight of the Year”. Shogun, who will be delaying his move to middleweight, will be looking to snap a two fight losing streak, while Minotoro will be looking to rebound off a knockout loss to Anthony Johnson.
At the time of reporting it is unknown if Jessica Eye has punched anyone.
