Saturday August 8, 2015– RFA 28 stopped in St. Louis for the first time on Friday and they were in a treat as their local talent put on a fantastic show.
Covering the event was our good friends Debo Lin Hart and Dustin Hill from The Sports Cage Blog Talk Radio Show. Check out their show as they talked to President Ed Soares about RFA 28.
In the main event, St. Louis native Andrew “El Dirte” Sanchez got a second chance to fight for the middleweight title. At his last title shot, he fought against Kevin Casey that ended in a knockout. Sanchez was able to deliver at home a very impressive performance thus far. During the first 3 rounds, Sanchez showcased his striking defeated John Poppie by bloodying him up before getting the TKO victory and winning the middleweight title.
In the co-main event, St. Louis was treated with another local fighter Ken Porter. Ken defeated former RFA flyweight champ Matt Manzanares by split decision. And if that wasn’t enough Adam Osmoe impressed the crowd with a first round submission against Jimmy Donahue. Osmoe cornered none other than UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes, delivered some impressive slams against his opponent in a Matt Hughes fashion before defeating him in a rear-naked choke.
