UFC Fight Night Boston Dillashaw Vs Cruz Recap
Live from Boston a new Champion was crowned as Dominick Cruz defeats former champion TJ Dillashaw but split decision. Through all five rounds both guys really never stopped moving and the punches just kept coming. There wasn’t much that Dillashaw could do at the begging but towards the end of the fight TJ found a way to slow down Cruz but it was too little too late. Cruz fought hard and earned this victory. With a bunch of fighters chomping at the bit to get a crack at Cruz I’m sure all the MMA world will be waiting to see who he gets next. The co main event had so much on the line, and with two top fighters needing a win like they need air to breathe. They left it all out there. Alvarez really pressured Pettis early and just never gave the former champion a chance to get out of the box. Pettis did land some hard blows but the aggressiveness of Alvarez was just too much. Eddie gets the split decision victory. Barroso over Elvis/ Font over Gomez/ Rosa over Bochniak/ Latifi over O’Connell/ Felder over Cruickshank/ Sanders over Mehdi Baghdad/ Herman over Boetsch/ Cote over Saunders/ Trinaldo over Pearson/ Browne over Mitrione/ Alvarez over Pettis/ Cruz over Dillashaw New undisputed bantamweight champion. What a night of fights and finishes can’t wait to see whats next.
Yoel Romero Fails Drug Test
After a huge win in his last fight against top ranked middleweight Jacare Souza, Yoel was primed to be the #1 contedner for Luke Rockholds middleweight title. Now that this news has fallen it looks like he has found himself on the outside looking in again. Romero who has been on a hell of a role as of late, really did deserve to be next for a title shot. Now that the failed test has come to lite, former champion Chris Weidman looks like he is gonna get the immediate rematch. If not Chris then most are speculating that Jacare will get the shot since he did lose to Yoel by unanimous decision, and in his previous fights he was on a role. Also being thrown around is Vitor Belfort, Rockhold wants his rematch against Belfort since the devastating KO that occurred a few years back. Then again with the division so open who knows what’s gonna happen.
The Return Of The Prodigy?
News broke early on Wednesday that former UFC champion and legend of the octagon BJ Penn was making a comeback. Penn decided to make his comeback against Nik Lentz, Lentz reportedly made some comments towards Penn and his family that apparently didn’t make the former champion very happy. Penn is started his training camp at Jackson Wink MMA, along with former light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, and current women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm. Lentz issues a statement accepting the fight under these conditions, that the fight is at 155 not 145, the fight will be on Lentz time not Penn’s time because and I quote “You are retired, and have no schedule” Lentz also went on to say that when he wins he doesn’t want to hear that Penn didn’t have enough time to train. Last Lentz states that Penn would have to donate $22,000 dollars to the Hawaii Dog Foundation a no kill all volunteer organization that rescues dogs. If those demands are met the fight will go down. I speak for myself and all the MMA world that we would love to see the Prodigy and Lentz end this beef in the best way possible in the octagon.
Nick Diaz Has Sentence Reduced
With news breaking on Tuesday that Nick Diaz will have his sentenced reduced from 5 years of suspension to 18 months, the MMA world felt like they won the war. After his last fight in January of 2015 against the Spider Anderson Silva, Diaz filled out a questionnaire incorrectly and was busted for a failed drug test for marijuana. After being busted for marijuana in the past the committee laid the hammer down hard on Diaz by suspending him for 5 years. Shortly after Silva who also tested positive on a steroid was suspended for just a year. The MMA world was in uproar that a fighter that took a steroid got only a year, but another fighter that smoked some marijuana to help him recover gets 5 years. Numerous fighters stood up for Diaz, by standing behind him and some even threatened not to fight in Nevada. After all set in done August of 2016 Diaz will be eligible to get back in the octagon. The right things was done congrats to Nick and all his family.
CM Punk potential Opponent found?
Dana broke news the other day that a potential opponent for CM Punks long-awaited first fight in the UFC may have been found. CM Punk is known as one of the WWE top superstars of all time, but after the two had a fallout Punk decided to try MMA. Getting signed by the UFC and entering training camp, Punk has been training for almost 2 years preparing for his first fight. Mickey Gall will make his debut at UFC196, and according to White if Gall will can defeat his opponent Michael Jackson, then he will be in line for a fight against Punk. Either way there hasn’t been a set date for that fight but I think we all would be ready for that one, no matter where or when.

UFC 197: McGregor Vs Dos Anjos, Holm Vs Tate Official!
It’s official McGregor Vs Dos Anjos will take place at UFC197, another fight that is also official is Holly Holm making her first title defense against number 2 contender in the world Cupcake Miesha Tate. McGregor will try to capture another title to make his stardom even bigger. Dos Anjos just defended his title on December 19th against Donald Cerrone, will get right back on the saddle and put his title on the line against arguably the biggest name in MMA. Dos Anjos is dangerous in all aspects of his game, and has the ability to take Conor places he has never been. McGregor has a chin like a brick and can take all kinds of punishment, there is no doubt that these two were in for a collision course, after the Big UFC press conference last year were both fighters were jawing back and forth. In the Co main event Holly Holm makes her first defense sense finish former champion Ronda Rousey. With all speculation that Holm would give Rousey the automatic rematch, news broke from Dana White that Holm would not fight Rowdy next. Miesha Tate is finally getting her shot that she earned last year, even though she has gotten destroyed by Rousey in both of their past fights Tate is primed to give the new champion all she’s got. Tate has been champion before back in Strikeforce, so there is no doubt that she knows how to handle herself on a big stage. Will Holms first defense go smooth, or will it be all smoke and mirrors.
