Sam Patterson replaces Alex Trinidad against Hardeep Rai at Brave 9

BAHRAIN (Sun, November 12, 2017)– Englishman Sam Patterson has answered the call and will replace Alex Trinidad against Hardeep Rai in a Catchweight bout of 150 lbs. at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions, set for November 17th, in Bahrain. Patterson is 1-0 as a professional, making the switch from amateur, where he held a perfect 5-0 record, in April of 2017, and TKO’ing his first opponent in the first round.

Patterson trains and fights out of Team Crossface and counts Brave Lightweight Charlie Leary among his teammates. Curiously, Leary will also fight at Brave 9. He meets Daniele Scatizzi and hopes to achieve his first promotional win after being stopped by current title challenger Ottman Azaitar at Brave 4: Unstoppable, back in March, on his Brave debut.

Hardeep Rai, who was scheduled to face Alex Trinidad, before the American was forced to pull out due to injury, is also 1-0 as a professional after a scintillating amateur career and made his debut at Brave 5: Go For Glory, in India, beating Arnan Chaiyasan by submission due to an armbar.

Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions marks the promotion’s return to Bahrain after a year. During 2017, the organization has put on groundbreaking events in countries such as Brazil (twice), Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Kazakhstan. Brave 9 will be the culmination of the International Combat Week, alongside the IMMAF World Championships, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
