Sugar Creek Showdown 25: Apocalypse

Event Time: Mar 28, 2015 8:00 PM EDT
Venue: Sugar Creek Casino
Location: Hinton, Oklahoma

Friday March 27th, 2015– Oklahoma’s #1 MMA promotion returns as Sugar Creek Showdown presents “SCS 25 – Apocalypse” emanating from Hinton, Oklahoma on March 28. MMA fans, this event is scheduled for tons of great fights anchored by a title fight featuring the top up and combing prospects inside Oklahoma and from surrounding states. SCS is the premier MMA organization in the Sooner State and one of the region’s top cage-fighting promotion’s.

In the main event, for the SCE Light Heavyweight Championship, Champion Jeremy Horn (91-21-5) defends his title against SCS Heavyweight Champion Tony “Kryptonite” Lopez (33-15). Horn is one of the most respected fighters in the sport and his time inside the cage fighting against top-level fighters is unprecedented. Horn returns to SCS to defend his title after he won it back in 2014 with a first round submission. Horn looks to add yet another notch in his belt as he takes on the dangerous Lopez who is coming off of a great win in his own right. Look for Horn to try to get the fight to the mat and take Lopez into deep waters early. Lopez will be the Hornâ??s toughest challenge in years and brings a wealth of experience into the cage. Lopez has fought everyone on the regional circuit, along with a stint in Bellator and has proven his mettle and durability time and again. Lopez is a former KOTC Champion and has plenty of championship experience and will not be deterred by the all-world Horn. Look for Lopez to come out early and earn Horn’s respect by taking the fight to him. With these two champions in the cage, it’s a safe bet that this fight will not go the distance. Don’t blink.

In the co-main event, for Women’s Bantamweight Title, Champion and Bellator vet Anita Rodriguez (6-5) fights Brenda Gonzales (6-2). The battle-tested Rodriguez brings a strong grappling game into the cage and will look to close the distance and get the fight down to the mat where she can go for submissions. Rodriguez has also improved her striking game, so much so that she won the title via TKO and makes her an all-around threat in the cage. Gonzales’ best weapons are her hands and feet, as she has scored half of her wins via TKO or KO. Look for Gonzales to push the pace early and try to use her cardio conditioning to her advantage. She will need to stay light on her feet to avoid the grappling of the Champ. This fight could very well be won in the later championship rounds as both women have trained for a hellacious fight.

The SCS Featherweight Title will be up for grabs when Champion and Bellator vet Josh Tyler (7-2) takes on fellow Bellator vet Jeremy Spoon (17-3). Since winning the title back in 2013, Tyler has defended the belt 3 times with 2 finishes. Tyler continues to improve and another impressive win here over a cagey veteran like Spoon could put Tyler on the map with some of the bigger organizations. Look for Tyler to use his evasive style to dart in and out and scoring with strikes while also being ready to defend Spoon’s attacks. Tyler can end a fight with a KO or sub, but also has the technical aspect to his game to win on points. Spoon will be looking to collect another title for his collection. Spoon comes in with a huge experience advantage and gets to fight in his home state as one of the featured fights on this stacked card. Spoon has won 5 of his last 6 fights and takes that momentum into the cage.

You won’t find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event. Be sure to catch-all of the action LIVE on March 28 as Sugar Creek Showdown presents “Apocalypse” only pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv and FightBookMMA.com.
