EDMONTON (Wed, June 7, 2017)– In advance of his fight Friday with Nick Campbell at Unified 31 on Friday in Edmonton, LIVE on FITE, former Unified title challenger Teddy Ash spoke with FightBookMMA.
How’s camp been going for this fight?
Camp’s been great. I’ve been spending as much time as possible in Edmonton on my days off but lots of sessions down here. Lots of one on one sessions with Mitch Clarke at Complete. It’s been good.
What did you learn after your last fight, a hard-fought loss to Brendan Kornberger for the Unified MMA middlweight title?
I learned a lot about myself and how to stay composed and pick your shots correctly. I think my striking got a lot smarter. Instead of just going in there and throwing, I’m a little more calculated than I used to be.
How excited are you to return to the action?
I cannot wait to get back in there. I’m riding a big learning curve and with every, single fight I’m learning more and more. I’m excited to show everyone what I’ve learned and how much better I’m getting.
What should fans expect from you?
They’re going to see an exciting fight with some blood. Someone’s going to get real hurt.
After this fight, would you want another crack at the title?
Oh yeah, I’d love another chance with Kornberger. I think I’ve come a long way since I’ve fought him. I think it’d be a much different story, now.
