TJ Dillishaw shuts down request for a rematch against Cody Garbrandt to headline UFC 222
UFC 217: Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre took place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Cody Garbrandt took on TJ Dillashaw to defend the bantamweight title. TJ landed a head kick that stunned Cody than he later landed a right hand before finishing him with a series of punches on the ground. TJ defeated Garbrandt in the second round to become the bantamweeight title holder.
Earlier today (Feb. 3, 2018) an announcement was made that Max Holloway suffered an injury and won’t be defending his featherweight title against Frankie Edgar at UFC 22.
The UFC started looking for a new headliner for UFC 222 and they asked TJ Dillashaw to defend his belt against Cody Garbrant.
Garbrant accepted the fight as he stated on Twitter:
Hey bang! Your fighter needed help to the stool after round one! You know what it is! Lighting doesn’t strike twice, take the fucking fight bitchass mfers! I accepted! Balls in your court. @TJDillashaw
