Top Peruvian Fighter Ready To Take MMA World By Storm
(Sat, April 22, 2017)– After recently coming to the United States to train under the famed Oyama MMA banner, top Peruvian fighter Humberto Bandenay sat down with FightBookMMA.
How did you find MMA in the first place?
When I was a kid, I started going to a soccer gym and eventually somebody pointed me to a fighting gym. I went and fell in love with mixed martial arts and that’s where I am today.
Why MMA, when so many go so long without getting into a fight at all?
I used to be a soccer player, but that gym was too far from me and everything was closed when I needed it so I chose to do mixed martial arts. My first amateur fight was in the fourth month of training and I won and fell in love with fighting and so it stuck.
Why are you so good, how have you put together such an impressive record?
When I started training I made getting to the UFC my goal and I started to train hard to be the best in Latin America. After that I want to be in the UFC and be the world champion in my division.
What else are your goals in MMA?
First is getting to the UFC. Second is to be the world champion of the UFCs featherweight division.
