C Holly Holm (10-0) Vs #2 Miesha Tate (17-5)

The co main event featured two of the top women MMA fighters in the world, Champion Holly Holm defended her title for the first time since winning it back in November against Miesha Tate. Tate is undefeated in the last few years and was set in stone to get this shot at the title. Both women at the top of their game, the champion wanting to show that she is more than a one hit wonder, and the challenger is looking to get her chance at glory. The 1st round starts out with both fighters showing respect for one another not a lot of action. Holm opens up with a nice combo, Miesha follows up with a nice right hand that lands. The champion throws some volume with very little landing. Miesha throws a little combo that lands but Holm finds a home for a high leg kick in return. As the 1st round comes to an end its very close through one. With the little action that took place it wasn’t clear on who took that round. The 2nd round begins with Tate getting a takedown and right into side control. Tate has the champions neck, slipping in a few elbows has Holm in full guard. Miesha continues to drop some mean elbows and really wearing down Holm. The champion has some great defense here but Tate just keeps coming. Tate takes Holms back and slips in 2 hooks and takes the champions back. Tate locks in the rear naked choke but the grit and great defense of the champion breaks her free as the round comes to an end. A big round for Tate. The 3rd round begins with Tate trying to close of the octagon, Holm moving around a lot looking for an opening. The champion throws a leg kick to keep Tate back. Holm lands a straight right hand. The 4th round starts out with both fighters exchanging strikes, Holm takes Tate into the clench against the cage. Both fighters land some dirty boxing shots and they work it back to the center. What a fight congrats to the new champion Miesha Cupcake Tate.

Main Event Welterweight Fight
Featherweight Champion Connor McGregor (19-2) Vs #5 lightweight Nate Diaz (19-10)

The main event had so much clouds around it with Dos Anjos having to pull out and Nate Diaz having to step in. Now that the night is here there is so much that any writer can say but I’m going to say this. TWO OF THE BEST SHIT TALKERS IN ALL OF MMA ARE ABOUT TO GO HEAD TO HEAD. Connor McGregor and Nate Diaz lets go. The 1st round starts out with both fighters throwing a few crazy shots that don’t land. McGregor throws and lands some mean shots to Diaz face. As hard as Connor lands Diaz doesn’t seem to be shook. McGregor throwing and landing the majority of the volume of strikes. Connor throws a high leg kick that misses followed up by more strikes that land. Connor is landing almost all of his punches enough to open up Diaz. The 1st round ends with McGregor clearly winning the 1st round. The 2nd starts out with Connor continuing to push and land strikes. Diaz really starting to bleed from these strikes. Nate goes into the clench but Connor works his way out. Nate is a punching bag right now. Connor lands a big uppercut but Diaz keeps coming. Nate lands a big shot that rocks Connor. Diaz works into the clench and the dirty boxing begins. Don’t count out Diaz here at all a lot of volume being thrown and a lot landing. Connor works his way out of the clench and Connor makes a huge mistake and tried to takedown Diaz. The takedown gets stuffed and Diaz takes full mount, the ground and pound begins. McGregor tried to get up and Diaz slips in the guillotine but the blood slips Connor free. After that Diaz takes Connors back and slips in the rear naked choke and that’s it. Connor taps out and Nate Diaz gets the win. What a fight, what a battle. Connor got a little to cocky and it came back to hurt him.

At the end of the night a new champion was crowned and a Notorious champion was defeated. What a night of fights from the MGM. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
