UFC 200’s Enrique Marin set to compete at EuroFC 02 in Prague
Thursday, November 3, 2016— Spain’s Enrique ‘Wasabi’ Marin (9-4) will compete at EuroFC 02 in Prague on February 11th at the historic o2 Arena.
Coming straight from the UFC, Marin enjoyed a short but very eventful time with the promotion. He competed on TUF: Latin America 2 where he made the welterweight finale after winning his two fights in the house. Unfortunately though he lost a close split decision to teammate Erick Montano at UFC Fight Night 78 in Monterray, Mexico.
Despite losing the finale Marin got another shot in the UFC and his next assignment would turn out to be against Sage Northcutt at the monumental UFC 200 card. He would drop down to lightweight but ultimately lost via decision.
Marin looks back at his time with the UFC with fondness as he feels he gained great experience there and has grown as a fighter as a result.
“Those experiences in the UFC were the most wonderful experiences of my life,” said Marin. “I learnt a lot about myself and about being around such a big event, and I also met wonderful people and athletes. But that is finished now and I have got to look forward.”
His first fight since his UFC release will be at EuroFC 02 and the Spaniard is excited and looking forward to starting a new chapter in his MMA career.
“I’m very happy to be competing for EuroFC. I think that life continues and now it’s a new stage in my career and life. So, I’m excited!”
Enrique Marin’s opponent will be announced tomorrow.
