UFC 205: Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor Medical Suspensions

Wednesday, November 16, 2016 UFC® made their anticipated debut and made history at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016. The main card aired on pay-per-view while the prelims was aired on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, Featherweight champ McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) became the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts at the same time. Conor knocked out lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez (28-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in the second round. In the co-main event, welterweight champ Tyron Woodley (16-3-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) defeated Stephen Thompson (13-1-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) in a majority draw. Two judges scored the fight 47-47, giving Woodley a 10-8 round and a third had the fight for Woodley 48-47 and Thompson three rounds.

The New York Altheltic Comminssion released the following Medical Suspensions to FightBookMMA:

  • Eddie Alvarez was suspended a minimum 30 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Stephen Thompson was suspended a minimum 30 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Both Joanna Jedrzczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz were suspended for 30 days
  • Chris Weidman was suspended a minimum 60 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Meisha Tate was suspended a minimum 30 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Michael Johnson was suspended 30 days
  • Vicente Luque was suspended indefinitely pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Bela Muhammad was suspended a minimum 60 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Jim Miller was suspended a minimum 30 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Rafael Natal was suspended a minimum 60 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
  • Liz Carmouche was suspended a minimum 30 days pending New York State Athletic Commission clearance
