UFC cancels PPV event in Rio de Janeiro
Tuesday December 29, 2015— Two months ago, the UFC announced a pay-per-view event in Rio de Janeiro on March 5, but the UFC has decided to cancel the event.
Anderson Silva revealed the news on a conference call today (12/29/2015) he stated that it was due to economic crisis.
“The plan was to have me fighting in Brazil against I don’t know who,” Silva said, “but with this situation going on in Brazil, economically and everything, the UFC decided to abort this event for now.”
Anderson “The Spider” Silva takes on Michael “The Count” Bisping in London, England at 02 Arena on Saturday, February 27. The UFC should be releasing a statement shortly about the PPV cancellation in Rio.
