Saturday November 5, 2016— UFC Fight Night 98 took place at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City. It aired on FS1 while the prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
In the main event, Ferguson (22-3 MMA, 12-1 UFC) took on dos Anjos (25-9 MMA, 14-7 UFC), a fight that’s one step closer to fight for the belt. The fight went all five rounds and was nothing but a back-and-forth slugfest. Ferguson showed that he can take all the shots that was thrown at him from dos Anjos. Fergusons iron jaw saved him throught out the night, eating stiff straight lefts from the ex-champ dos Anjos. After all five rounds Tony Ferguson defeats Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision with the scores of 48-47, 48-47, 48-47.
In the co-main event, Sanchez (27-9 MMA, 16-9 UFC) dominated Held (22-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) on the mat with excellent grappling. The fight went all three rounds as Sanchez poured on the strikes from top control. Diego delivered many punches and elbows shutting down all of Helds leg lock attempts with ease. An easy call for the judges as all three scored it for Sanchez 29-28, 29-28, and 29-27.
