ON OCTOBER 3 ON THE MATTHYSSE VS. POSTOL UNDERCARD

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 24, 2015) In anticipation of an action-packed card on October 3, we caught up with San Diego based fighters Antonio “Relentless” Orozco (22-0-0, 15 KO’s) and Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (28-1-2, 16 KOs) about their top picks for food, fun and entertainment and how training camp is going in beautiful San Diego where they both are based.

Gesta and Orozco are both featured on the undercard of the Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol, a 12-round bout for the vacant WBC World Super Lightweight Championship at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. and televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark. Orozco is scheduled to face three-time division world champion, Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto (65-8-2, 35, KOs), of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico and will serve as the 10-round super lightweight co-main event televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark. Gesta will face Martin Honorio (32-9-1, 16 KOs) of Mexico City, Mexico in a 10-round lightweight non-televised bout.

Here is what the fighters had to say:

ANTONIO “RELENTLESS” OROZCO, Undefeated Super Lightweight Contender:

What is the best beach in San Diego?

“Coronado Beach is the best beach in San Diego.”

Where do you train in San Diego?

“I train at the House of Boxing Gym, located in the National City area of San Diego.”

What’s you favorite spot in San Diego?

“My favorite spot in the city is Old Town, San Diego, it is full of culture.”

What’s your must-see attraction in San Diego for out of town visitors?

“Too many to list! But I like La Jolla Shores, Cabrillo National Park, and the Downtown Gas Lamp Quarter.”

What do you love most about San Diego?

“Little bit of everything: the scenery, weather, beaches and the people.”

MERCITO “NO MERCY” GESTA, Former Lightweight World Title Contender:

What is the best beach in San Diego?

“If you live in San Diego, you’ll soon come to realize that ALL THE BEACHES here are the best. But, if you
ask me, I would say Coronado State Beach. It’s not that crowded, very clean, everyone bikes, nice community,
and the historic Hotel Del Coronado is located there as well.”

Where do you train in San Diego?

“I mainly train in the city of Poway, as well as other local gym facilities throughout San Diego.”

What’s your favorite training activity?

“The mitts.”

Are you doing anything different or unique for this training camp?

“Yes, every fight has a different and new opponent, so for every fight there should be a new adjustment that is
different and unique for the fight.”

What is the best restaurant for fish tacos in San Diego?

“I would say Cotijas in Chula Vista off of Third and K Street. They not only have the best fish tacos, but also I
would definitely recommend for everyone to order the hash brown burrito.”

What’s your must-see attraction in San Diego for out of town visitors?

“This is the finest city! So basically anywhere you go is nice, but I suggest the Cabrillo Monument in Point
Loma because from there you can see all of San Diego, up the coast of Cali, and down the coast of Mexico.”

What do you love most about San Diego?

“The weather and the beaches.”
