World champion steps into title shot at Lion Fight 29

Thursday April 21, 2016 Three-time world champion Armin Pumpanmuang has stepped up as an injury replacement to face Jo Nattawut for the super welterweight title at Lion Fight 29.

Armin (124-19-1) takes the spot originally occupied by Yodpayak Sitsongpeenong in the main-event bout set for Friday, May 27th at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Yodpayak was forced off the card after a pre-fight examination revealed a serious medical issue.

The bout marks the third title defense for Nattawut (56-5-2).

“We are disappointed for Yodpayak and wish him all the best. At the same time, we are very excited to have a fighter the caliber of Armin willing and ready to enter into a title fight,” said Lion Fight President & CEO Scott Kent.

“The showdown for the Lion Fight super welterweight crown remains a Thai vs. Thai battle which is always very intriguing and will undoubtedly be an exciting, action-packed clash.”
