7 November, 2016 – ROAD Fighting Championship is excited to announce two more matches for Xiaomi ROAD FC 035 on 10 December at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea.
First, South Korea’s outstanding product Kim Soo-Chul will face thrilling WEC and UFC veteran Scott Jorgensen.
Kim Soo-Chul (14-5-1, Team Force) was expected to be facing Kim Min-Woo for the vacant ROAD FC Bantamweight Championship, however a minor surgery to the latter postponed the match. Kim has faced back-to-back veterans of the sport in his last eight bouts, going undefeated since relinquishing the inaugural ONE Championship belt to Bibano Fernandes. Among those in Kim’s win column are UFC vets Issei Tamura and Marcus Brimage, China’s top product Jumabieke Tuerxun, Japan’s legendary Taiyo Nakahara, and undefeated Jungle Fight Champ Maike Linhares. Kim will again face a mountain of an opponent in his next match.
Scott Jorgensen (15-12, Combat Fitness) is a former WEC title challenger and UFC fighter with a decade of professional MMA under his belt. Prior to MMA, he was a three-time champion collegiate wrestler. Jorgensen has racked up five Fight of the Nights in his career fighting the top in his division, including Antonio Banuelos, Brad Pickett, Dominick Cruz, Eddie Wineland and Urijah Faber. He is a perennial fan favorite who always delivers excitement.
Kim versus Jorgensen is a fight that will definitely have the audience on their feet!
The second match added to Xiaomi ROAD FC 035 is former ROAD FC Middleweight Champion Lee Eun-Soo versus upa and coming Makshati Sailik at Welterweight.
Lee Eun-Soo (16-4, Empower/Him Sports) is the former ROAD FC Middleweight Champion who returns after a long hiatus due to injury which saw him relinquish the belt. Lee is one of the original celebrated Korean mixed martial artists who claimed the Spirit MC Heavyweight Champion and the CMA Openweight Champion. Now he returns to resume his career at the competitive welterweight division of ROAD FC.
Makshati Sailik (5-4, AF Fight Club) is a surging 20-year old welterweight from China. When he was just 15, he was already competing in MMA promotions in China. Before the age of 17 he was the Xinjiang boxing champion. Combine that with three submission finishes in his last four wins, and it looks like Makshati is going to be a big threat to the division.
Lee versus Makshati is proven veteran versus young talent, and there is much at stake for both as the ROAD FC welterweight rankings get even more hotly contested.
