Xiaomi ROAD FC 042: Pride era throwback Minowa Man vs Yoon Dong-Sik



August 4, 2017 – ROAD Fighting Championship announces a legend versus legend match for Xiaomi ROAD FC 042 on September 23: Minowa Man versus Yoon Dong-Sik. Xiaomi ROAD FC 042 will be held during the Chungju World Martial Arts Festival in Chungju, South Korea at the Chungju World Martial Arts Festival Stadium.

Minowa Ikuhisa (63-42-8, Free) needs no introduction. The Pride, K-1, and Dream veteran has an historic MMA career facing absolutely everyone in the sport from his division to everything above it. Minowa Man has fought Evan Tanner, Semmy Schilt, Ricardo Liborio, Rampage, Wanderlei, Phil Baroni, Bustamante, Sakuraba, Cro Cop, Don Frye, Choi Hong-Man, Satoshi Ishii, Alexander Shlemenko, and Oli Thompson.

Minowa Man knocked out Kim Hoon in his 100th fight at ROAD FC 13. He has gone 2-2 in ROAD FC and will now face a fellow veteran of the sport from glory days one decade past.

Yoon Dong-Sik (9-9, Yoojeong Trade) also needs no introduction. After becoming an international Judo champion, he began his MMA career in none other than Pride. Yoon has fought Sakuraba, Rampage, Bustamante, Melvin Manhoef, Gegard Mousasi, and Tarec Saffiedine during his time in Pride, K-1 and Dream.

Yoon began his resurgence at ROAD FC 16 and has since gone 2-2 which included a shot to be the next Middleweight contender.

Minowa Man versus “Dongbar” Yoon will see two legendary grappling MMA warriors face off for the first time in over ten years of competition.

An Openweight rematch between Kim Chang-Hee and Shim Gun-Oh is set after an unfortunate accident stopped their first match too early. Now the brawling big men are eager to get back into the cage and show off kickboxing versus wrestling. Also, breakout fierce young fighter Park Jung-Eun and ROAD FC Women’s Atomweight Champion Ham Seo-Hee’s teammate Park Si-Woo will make for a thrilling match in a battle of the hot prospects.

ROAD FC is honored to present MMA for the first time as a part of the 19th annual UNESCO-Sponsored Chungju World Martial Arts Festival. As the birthplace of Korea’s 1,00-year old martial art, Taekgyeon, to becoming the venue for the international exchange of diversity and excellence in traditional martial arts, Chungju will again usher in another first for martial arts history in Korea.
