2024 Gamma Worlds: Results For U18s Day 1 And Matches Schedule For Day 2

Banten – The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts’ 2024 World Championships commenced today at the Dewa MMA Arena in Banten, Indonesia with an Opening Ceremony followed by the first day of U18s competition.

See below for the Matches Results across two fields of play, where U18s and U16s competed in the MMA Arena and all U14s on the tatami, plus the Matches Schedule for tomorrow’s Day 2.

Notable returning medallists that succeeded through to tomorrow’s rounds included in the U12’s the Czech Republic’s Drahus Divulit at 50kg. The gold medallist from this year’s European Championships in Slovakia victoried by first round TKO in 0:57 seconds. Another favourite on the tatami was European silver medallist Mateo Davis of Ireland competing at -42kg. It took Mateo just 26 seconds to secure a submission win.

Meanwhile in the MMA Arena, U18 Daniil Chernetsky of Ukraine did honour to his 2024 European gold medal in securing a decision win in a competitive back-and-forth against Polish opponent Baba Damian at -74.9kg .

Another 2024 European gold medallist, Poland’s Oliwier Przerwa fought twice in the 70.3kg category. He achieved a first round submission at 0:48 in his first encounter, before facing off against a more challenging opponent in Mykhailo Ryepka of Ukraine to ultimately secure a unanimous decision in his favour. The USA’s James Weaver also competed twice at 70.3kg. The 2024 Pan Ams Gold medallist won by submission twice, taking just 54 seconds in his first match and 22 seconds in his next.

Elsewhere in the U18s looking to best his 2023 World gold medal, Maxwell Stary (USA) earned his pass to the -65kg Semi’s with a second round submission victory.

As well in the U16s 54kg division, 2023 World Champion Leonid Reyna (again USA) clinched a submission in the third, whilst another 2024 European gold medallist Matyas Gruber of Czech Republic victoried at -62kg, completing the job in the second round also by submission.

All matches can be watched free of charge internationally on GAMMA’s Facebook and YouTube channels, subject to local broadcast deals. The event is being exclusively broadcast in Indonesia by MNC Group on iNews TV, Vision Plus and KVision.
