There may be some classes you offer where students bring their own, but overall, you want to have a majority of the items trainers need. Before you buy anything though, consider what the necessities are and what pieces can wait until you’re a little more established.

In order to let people know you exist, you’ve got to put yourself out there. Make sure you’re advertising your new gym as much as you can. An easy way to do this is by utilizing social media. You’ll find that the audience that you can promote to is far beyond any other reach. Consistently post and upload new content, allowing people to see who and what you are.

Don’t be afraid when it comes to asking for help. While you may want to open and run the gym on your own, you won’t be able to do it all. Think about hiring one or two workers in the beginning. You need to surround yourself with people who can help you run things and keep the place going. If you can find a mentor or someone who’s able and willing to give you advice, don’t hesitate to reach out to them either.

You really need to consider the location where you’ll be opening your gym. You want to make sure you’re in a spot that’s seen and accessible. If you open a place in the middle of nowhere, you’re limiting the amount of clientele you could receive. Another thing to think about is parking. This may seem like an insignificant concern, but if you have multiple gym members coming in at once, there needs to be plenty of space for them to park.
